Brian R. Biggs CPA offers over 20 years of hotel operations and finance experience, including 10 years with Four Seasons Hotels in the U.S. and the Caribbean. He held finance/ accounting positions for the Four Seasons in Dallas, Philadelphia, New York and Nevis, where he oversaw financial operations at this #1 ranked golf and spa resort, with 700 employees, 196 rooms and over 40 private luxury residences. His experience also includes commercial real estate appraisal and market studies, labor and contract analysis, internal audit and business interruption/property damage claims. Based in Central Florida, he is currently Vice President /Lodging Specialist at C.B. Richard Ellis Valuation and Advisory Services as well as a practicing Florida CPA. Brian holds licenses as a Certified General Real Estate Appraiser, Certified Public Accountant, Real Estate Broker, Mortgage Broker, Certified Internal Auditor, and Certified Business Valuation Analyst. He is a member of the Appraisal Institute and received a B.S. degree from the University of Texas and continues graduate studies and teaching at Florida Tech University. 

 
Professional Accomplishments:
  • Performed over 100 real estate and hotel appraisals, market studies and other consulting engagements via CB Richard Ellis (CBRE) the world's premier, full-service real estate services company. Its Valuation and Advisory - Hospitality and Gaming group has completed thousands of hospitality assignments.

  • Worked on many hotel capital projects, including the construction of a $3 million spa expansion, laundry expansion and energy savings plan.

  • Managed 10 professional and 13 line hotel staff, and implemented the reorganization of divisional labor to allow greater productivity, motivation and stability .

  • Managed multi-million dollar business interruption and property damage insurance claim, in addition to a major multi-million reconstruction and reopening project.

  • Worked on the layoff and re-hire of over 425 resort employees during a one-year hurricane closure; in the process, completely revised labor standards and policies to yield annual savings of over $500,000 per year.

  • Created and implemented the only non-taxable Retirement Savings Plan in the Caribbean Island Federation of Nevis and St Kitts, generating a unique benefit for employees and considerable savings for the resort.

  • Developed a major update of Community Association (HOA) assessments that yielded an additional 30 - 40% in profit annually with minimal public relations issues with the HOA.

  • Reorganized and renegotiated all shipping programs to yield over 30% savings annually through healthy competition, internal logistical organization, quarterly buying and maximum use of storage.
